I have been the tutor at the Lochiel Scottish Country Dancing Club in Hamilton New Zealand for the last ten years. Last year Simon Barbour took over while I had a break. We meet every Tuesday night at the Knox Church Hall in Albert St, Hamilton East, from 7:00pm to 9:30, then we have supper. The session from 7:00 to 8:00 is for Beginners and Elementary dancers.
Over the years I have gradually become more and more interested in teaching Beginners – people who have never danced before – and Elementary dancers – people who have done the Beginners’ stage and want to go further.
The books listed in the links above mostly focus on some aspect of this interest in Beginners and Elementary dancers, except for “Weird and Wonderful” and “The Lochiel Collection” (under construction) which include dances for all levels of ability.
By clicking on the links you can read a fuller description of the books and decide whether you want order them or not
