This book consists of three dances that are unusual in some way:-
1. The Bride’s Favourite – (Jig x 32) – uses the tune of the same name on a record “Below the Salt” by SteeleyeSpan.
2. The Bodhran Drum – (Reel x 32) – uses the song “Wha Wadna Fecht For Charlie” on a record called “The Very Best of the Corries”. This consists of the drum and the Corries singing only.
3. The Improviser (Jig x 32) – asks each couple on bars 25 to 32 to improvise ie. decide what they are going to do as they do bars 1 to 24 and call it out to the rest of the set before bar 24!!! No repeats allowed.
The cost is NZ$ 5, NZ$7 posted, NZ$9 posted overseas. Cheques made payable to Ruary Laidlaw |
